Give it Rice screening announced for Seaton

Carnival is back in style. There’s no way better to do it then with a brand new carnival film!

Give it Rice is a brand new carnival film which has had a handful of screenings around Somerset already this year. On 22 July 2022, the film will be coming to Devon for a one off screening.

The battleground is Europe’s biggest illuminated carnival, which takes place in the small West Country town of Bridgwater. Alan and Matt have devoted their lives to this competition, and as members of the Marketeers Carnival Club, they have never won. When Matt leaves the Marketeers to join their arch-rivals – the Gremlins – Alan is heartbroken. The Gremlins Carnival Club is the Goliath of this competition – With more money and better engineering, they win every year. However, Alan is certain that “Carnival’s not about engineering. It’s about people. It’s about passion. That’s what we’ve got.

I have been working alongside the film’s director, Richard Ridout, to arrange a Devon screening of this film about hope, dedication and the fundamental human need: togetherness.

The film will be screened at the Seaton Gateway Theatre on Friday 22nd July at 8:00pm. Doors open at 7:00pm with a bar open for the duration. Tickets are available from 12 noon on Saturday 11th June.

Tickets are ‘Pay What You Can’ to help cover running costs of the film. Suggested donation of £5.00.
